DMRC begins Golden Line construction
The Delhi Metro is building a new part of its network called the Golden Line.
This new line will have 8 stations and will connect Saket G Block to Lajpat Nagar.
The work has just started, and there was a special ceremony to mark the beginning.
The Delhi Metro is like a big train system that helps people get around the city quickly.
This new line is part of a bigger plan to make the metro even better and help more people travel easily.
The line will connect important areas in South Delhi and make it easier for people to get to schools, government offices, and other places.
It will also connect with other metro lines, making travel even more convenient.
DMRC has started construction on the Saket G Block–Lajpat Nagar corridor of the Golden Line (Line 11) as part of Phase 4.
The First Test Pile and Ground-Breaking Ceremony was held at Pushpa Bhawan near Saket.
The Golden Line will feature 8 stations: Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj, GK-1, Chirag Delhi, Pushpa Bhawan, Saket District Centre, Pushp Vihar, and Saket G Block.
This is the first section outside the Phase-IV priority corridors where physical work has started.
The Delhi Metro is the longest metro network in the country and is considered a lifeline for Delhiites.
