Assam floods disrupt rail services

In 2026, heavy floods in Assam, India, caused by heavy rainfall, have disrupted train services.

Over 30 trains have been cancelled, diverted, or shortened because the floodwaters covered the railway tracks and stations.

The Simaluguri station and nearby areas are badly affected.

To keep passengers safe, Indian Railways has stopped train services between Simaluguri and Namtiali, and Simaluguri and Selenghat.

Trains going to Dibrugarh and Tinsukia are now taking a different route through Rangiya, Rangapara, and Dibrugarh.

This has caused problems for travelers and businesses, but it's important to ensure everyone's safety during the floods.
