Andhra Pradesh Tax Collections Rise 18% Through August

Andhra Pradesh collected more commercial tax money in the first five months of 2026-27 than in the same period last year.

The total was about Rs 25,450 crore, which was 18.05% higher.

August alone brought in about Rs 4,984 crore.

Goods and Services Tax collections also increased, reaching about Rs 16,453 crore cumulatively.

Petroleum taxes grew especially quickly.

Officials said better tax compliance, stronger checks and more economic activity helped.

The department also used artificial intelligence and data tools to find possible tax problems.

Some products, including cement, medicines and electrical machinery, brought in less tax after GST rates were reduced.
