Afcom Signs Boeing LOI for Four 777-8F Freighters

Afcom is a cargo airline based in Chennai, India.

It has agreed to discuss buying as many as four large Boeing 777-8F cargo planes.

This agreement is called a letter of intent, so it is not yet a final purchase.

The airline still needs to complete official contracts with Boeing.

If the deal happens, Afcom would become the first Indian carrier to order this type of plane, according to the company.

Afcom currently flies smaller Boeing 737-800 cargo planes.

It recently began flying between Navi Mumbai and Dubai World Central three times each week.

The expansion follows a strong year of growth for the company.
