US LNG Exports Jump in July, Despite Price Drops
The US is selling a lot of super-chilled gas called LNG!
In July, they shipped out nearly as much as ever before.
Most of this gas went to Europe.
Prices were a bit lower in Europe and Asia, but people still needed the gas.
The US even sent more gas to South America because it was cold there.
One big gas plant had some problems, which slightly affected how much gas was sent out.
Another new plant started up in Canada.
US LNG exports reached 9.1 million metric tons in July, the third highest on record.
Exports to Europe remained the favored destination, though slightly less than the prior month.
Exports to Latin America saw an increase due to colder weather.
Both European and Asian LNG prices fell in July.
Freeport LNG experienced unplanned outages, impacting its output.
