Constitution Day 2025: Article 368's Power
Constitution Day is celebrated in India on November 26.
One of the most important parts of the Indian Constitution is Article 368, which gives the Parliament the power to change the Constitution.
This means they can add, modify, or remove parts of it.
However, they can't change the most important parts, like the rule of law and secularism, because of the Basic Structure Doctrine.
Other important articles include Article 32, which lets people go to the Supreme Court if their rights are violated, and Article 21, which protects people's right to life and freedom.
There's also Article 356, which allows the central government to take control of a state if there's a problem.
These articles help make sure the Constitution stays relevant and fair for everyone.
Article 368 grants Parliament the power to amend the Constitution.
The Basic Structure Doctrine limits Parliament's amending power.
Article 32 allows citizens to approach the Supreme Court for fundamental rights.
Article 21 protects the right to life and personal liberty.
Article 356 enables the Centre to impose President's Rule in states.
