Madhavan's GDN Struggles at Box Office on Opening Day
A new movie called GDN came out in theatres in India.
It stars a famous Indian actor named R Madhavan.
The movie is about a real person called GD Naidu, who was a big industrial pioneer.
It is a biographical drama, which means it tells a true story.
On its very first day, the movie earned only Rs 59 lakh, which is a small amount.
The makers had hoped it would earn more than Rs 1 crore on day one.
Most of the money came from the Tamil version, with the Telugu version earning much less.
This opening is disappointing compared to how well Madhavan's other recent movies have done in theatres.
R Madhavan's biographical drama GDN earned a total gross of Rs 59 lakh on its opening day, failing to cross the Rs 1 crore mark.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film's India net collection stood at around Rs 53 lakh.
The Tamil version contributed Rs 46 lakh to the net collection, while the Telugu version added only Rs 7 lakh.
GDN is based on the life of industrial pioneer GD Naidu and marks Madhavan's return to a Tamil theatrical release in a lead role.
