EPFO Mandates Face Authentication for UAN Generation via UMANG
The EPFO now requires you to use your face to verify your identity using the UMANG app to get a UAN.
This uses the Aadhaar Face RD app.
This is meant to make it faster and more secure to get a UAN.
You'll use your Aadhaar info to automatically fill in your details.
You'll still be able to get help from your employer if needed.
This will reduce errors, improving accuracy and making the process more user-friendly.
EPFO now requires Aadhaar-based Face Authentication Technology (FAT) for UAN generation via the UMANG app.
Users must use the Aadhaar Face RD app for biometric verification during the UAN generation process.
The update streamlines UAN allotment, using Aadhaar data for automatic KYC validation.
The existing employer-assisted UAN generation process remains available.
This change aims to improve the accuracy of EPFO's member database and digital services.
