Microsoft Shares Surge 9% on Strong Q4 Results
Microsoft, a big computer company, made more money than people expected in its last quarter.
Because of that, its stock price went up a lot after the earnings were announced.
The company said it will keep making extra money even though it spent more this quarter.
Its cloud service, Azure, made a lot of money and is expected to grow even more next quarter.
Microsoft also added many new users to its Copilot tool, which helps people write and work better.
All of this made investors happy and the stock price jumped.
Microsoft shares jumped up to 9% in extended trading after Q4 earnings beat expectations.
Q4 revenue reached $90.01 billion, 18% year‑on‑year growth, above the $87.62 billion forecast.
Free cash flow fell 23% to $19.64 billion, but CFO Amy Hood said the company will stay free‑cash‑flow positive through fiscal 2027.
Azure cloud revenue topped $100 billion for the full year, growing 41% YoY, and is projected to grow 45% in Q1.
Microsoft 365 Copilot added 10 million paid seats, reaching 30 million by quarter end.
