Supreme Court Issues Notice on Plea Against Ram Rahim Acquittal

In 2002, a journalist named Ram Chander Chhatrapati was killed.

A man named Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the leader of a big group called Dera Sacha Sauda, was accused in the murder case.

A court in Punjab and Haryana later decided that Ram Rahim was not guilty.

The court let him go free, which is called an acquittal.

The journalist's son, Aridaman Chhatrapati, believed this decision was wrong.

He asked the Supreme Court of India, the country's highest court, to look at the case again.

The Supreme Court agreed to take up the matter and issued a notice about the plea.

Now the top court will hear arguments about the case.

This is how the family is trying to get another chance at justice.
