Court Acquits Man in Ganja Case
Three years ago, the police in Jharkhand stopped a car and found 200 kg of ganja inside.
They arrested one person, but the other two ran away.
When the case went to court, the police said that rats had eaten all the ganja while it was being stored.
The court was not convinced and found many mistakes in the police's story.
They also said that the police did not do a good job of keeping the evidence safe.
Because of these problems, the court decided that the person who was arrested was not guilty and let him go.
The Jharkhand Police intercepted a vehicle and seized 200 kg of ganja in January 2022.
The sole accused, Indrajeet Rai, was arrested, while two others escaped.
The police claimed that rats ate the ganja while it was stored in the malkhana.
The court acquitted Rai due to multiple lapses in the investigation and handling of evidence.
The court noted contradictions in the police's testimonies and lack of proper evidence preservation.
