ICC Reprimands Harshit Rana for Brevis Send-Off
Harshit Rana, an Indian cricket player, got in trouble for the way he celebrated after getting a South African player, Dewald Brevis, out during a cricket match.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said he broke the rules by doing something that could make the other player angry.
This is not the first time Harshit has been in trouble for his behavior in cricket matches.
He has been punished before in a different cricket league for similar things.
The match referee, Richie Richardson, gave Harshit a warning and a fine.
Harshit admitted he did something wrong and accepted the punishment.
Rana took 3 wickets for 65 runs in the match, which India won by 17 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Harshit Rana was reprimanded by the ICC for a send-off gesture towards Dewald Brevis during the 1st ODI between India and South Africa in Ranchi.
The incident occurred in the 22nd over when Rana dismissed Brevis.
Rana breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which involves using language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal.
This is Rana's first offense in international cricket but he has a history of similar incidents in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Rana admitted the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Richie Richardson.
