Trump Lowers Swiss Tariffs, Warns of Potential Hikes
President Trump said he lowered the taxes on things the US buys from Switzerland, like watches, to help Swiss companies.
He did this because he didn't want to hurt people.
The taxes were very high before, but now they're lower.
However, he said the taxes could go back up again.
Switzerland and a nearby country, Liechtenstein, promised to invest a lot of money in the US to create jobs.
This happened at a big meeting in Switzerland called the World Economic Forum.
US President Donald Trump announced a reduction in US tariffs on Swiss imports, including watches, from 39% to 15%.
Trump hinted that the tariff rates could rise again in the future.
The reduction comes as part of a preliminary trade agreement between the US and Switzerland.
Swiss and Liechtenstein companies committed to investing $200 billion in the US over the next five years, including $67 billion in 2026.
The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on 21 January.
