ED Seizes ₹9.70 Crore in Anti-Terror Raids
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted big raids in many places across India.
They seized a lot of money and gold worth ₹9.70 crore.
They also froze 25 bank accounts.
This was part of an investigation into a group linked to ISIS, which was led by a man named Saquib Nachan who has passed away.
The group was allegedly involved in illegal activities like cutting and selling special wood to fund their activities.
The ED found that the group was using this wood trade to make money secretly.
They are now looking into how the money was moved around and who was involved.
ED seized ₹9.70 crore in cash and gold, and froze 25 bank accounts linked to an ISIS-inspired terror module.
Raids were conducted across 40 locations in 7 states/UTs, including Maharashtra, Delhi, and Kolkata.
The investigation is based on NIA cases involving the late Saquib Nachan, an alleged ISIS leader in India.
The terror module was allegedly involved in illegal Khair wood smuggling to fund extremist activities.
Digital devices, radical literature, and incriminating documents were seized during the operations.
