Convict Who Skipped Parole for 40 Years Arrested After Retirement

A man serving a life sentence was allowed to leave prison briefly on parole.

He was supposed to return in March 1984, but he allegedly stayed away for about 40 years.

During that time, he reportedly got a government teaching job.

He also allegedly received a “best teacher” award and later retired.

He was finally arrested in 2024 at age 73.

His wife asked the court to challenge a three-year rule stopping him from seeking parole.

The Telangana High Court rejected her plea.

The court said prisons need a better system to track people released on parole.
