Tamil Nadu Seeks Freeze on Lok Sabha Seat Reallocation
Tamil Nadu wants the current number of Lok Sabha seats to stay unchanged.
The limit is 543 seats across India and 39 seats for Tamil Nadu.
The state is worried that counting population growth could give southern states fewer seats.
Tamil Nadu says its successful population-control efforts should not reduce its political voice.
