NATO Plans Drone and AI Strategy for Eastern Flank Defense

NATO Plans Drone and AI Strategy for Eastern Flank Defense

NATO is preparing a plan in case Russia attacks one of its eastern members.

The plan is supposed to help the alliance respond quickly and defend its territory.

It brings together traditional military forces and newer tools, including drones and artificial intelligence.

NATO says its goal is to discourage an attack, not to start one.

The plan also addresses hybrid threats, which are hostile actions that fall short of open war.

If an attack happened, NATO would first try to stop forces from entering its territory.

It would then try to disrupt the enemy’s ability to direct its forces.

NATO also wants the plan to encourage allies to prepare and invest in defense.
