Rupee Jumps 50 Paise, Stocks Rise as Dollar Weakens
On Friday, the Indian rupee did better against the US dollar, going up by half a rupee!
This happened because the US dollar became weaker, and investors felt more confident overall.
The stock market also had a good day, with the Sensex and Nifty going up.
This positive change was also helped by the central bank's encouragement of investment.
Some investors were buying stocks.
However, the country's total money reserves decreased during the week.
The Indian rupee gained 50 paise against the US dollar, closing at Rs 85.45.
The rise was attributed to a weaker US dollar and improved global risk appetite.
Domestic equities, including the Sensex and Nifty, saw strong gains.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers of equities.
The Reserve Bank of India reported a fall in the country’s forex reserves.
