Rajasthan Civic Poll Victory Boosts BJP and Modi’s Leadership

The Bharatiya Janata Party won more wards than Congress in Rajasthan’s city elections.

The BJP won 4,179 wards, while Congress won 3,613.

The BJP also gained clear majorities in four municipal corporations.

Independent candidates won 2,273 wards and did especially well in Bharatpur.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the results showed that people supported the BJP’s work.

He linked the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and central government projects.

Congress won a majority in Bikaner Municipal Corporation and did well in Jhalawar.

Sharma also said his government had completed 78 percent of its election promises.
