Pune Civic Fund Dispute Escalates Over NCP Inquiry Demand

Pune Civic Fund Dispute Escalates Over NCP Inquiry Demand

A disagreement is growing between the BJP and NCP in Pune’s city government.

The NCP asked for an investigation into how some development money was spent.

The NCP says the BJP responded by moving money away from areas represented by NCP corporators.

One reported resolution would move Rs 11.5 crore from Tingrenagar to wards represented by BJP corporators.

BJP leader Ganesh Bidkar said the decision followed criticism and alleged misconduct by an NCP corporator.

NCP leaders say asking questions about public money is a democratic right.

They also say the decision could prevent local residents from getting planned civic improvements.

The Tingrenagar proposal still requires approval from the civic general body, according to the report.
