Goa Nightclub Fire: Owners Detained in Thailand
A big fire happened at a nightclub in Goa called Birch by Romeo Lane.
Twenty-five people died, including workers and tourists.
The owners of the nightclub, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, went to Thailand right after the fire.
They said they went there for work, not to run away.
The government has suspended their passports to stop them from traveling further.
The court in Delhi said no to their request to not be arrested when they return.
The police have already arrested five people who worked at the nightclub.
The owners are now detained in Thailand, and the police are trying to bring them back.
The fire started around midnight, and the owners booked tickets to Thailand just a few hours later.
The police think the owners left to avoid being questioned.
The nightclub did not have good fire safety, which made the fire worse.
The police are also checking the owners' cars and other things to find more clues.
The owners have been found to run 42 shell companies from a single address in Delhi.
The owners of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, fled to Thailand within hours of the fire that killed 25 people.
The court denied their request for interim protection from arrest, and the next hearing is scheduled for December 11.
An Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued to locate the Luthra brothers, who are detained in Thailand.
Five staff members and a partner of the nightclub have been arrested in connection with the fire.
The fire was caused by internal electrical fireworks, and the absence of fire safety infrastructure contributed to the severity of the incident.
