Congress Muslim leaders criticize party's silence on community issues
Some Muslim leaders in the Congress party are upset because they feel the party isn't speaking up enough about issues that affect Muslims.
They say the party's top leader, Rahul Gandhi, doesn't talk about Muslims in his speeches, even though he talks about other communities.
These leaders are worried that if the Congress doesn't address Muslim concerns, people might start supporting another party called AIMIM instead.
Meanwhile, AIMIM's leader in Uttar Pradesh, Shaukat Ali, says the Samajwadi Party (SP) has not done enough for Muslims and that AIMIM is preparing to contest elections in about 200 assembly constituencies in UP.
He also mentioned a possible alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and efforts to form a third front to represent Dalits, Muslims, and other marginalized sections.
Some people inside the Congress disagree and think the party is doing enough for Muslims.
They believe the party needs to be careful not to be seen only as a Muslim party, as that could upset other voters.
Congress Muslim leaders are uneasy about the party's silence on issues concerning the Muslim community.
Critics like Shakeel Ahmad and Husain Dalwai accuse the Congress of ignoring Muslim leaders and issues.
Rahul Gandhi is criticized for not using the word 'Muslim' in his speeches, unlike other communities.
The AIMIM's success in recent elections is seen as a result of Congress's failure to address Muslim concerns.
