WBBSE Reinstates 182 More Teachers Following Supreme Court Order
Imagine a big problem happened with some teacher jobs a few years ago, and the highest court in the land canceled many of them.
But the court also said that teachers who did nothing wrong could still be teachers.
So, a school board in West Bengal is now inviting 182 of these good teachers to come pick up their official papers to go back to their old teaching jobs.
They have to come on specific days, November 11th or 12th, to get their letters.
This is part of a plan to fix things after the canceled jobs.
So far, 348 teachers have been invited back to teach.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has called 182 in-service teachers to collect appointment letters for reinstatement.
This action follows a Supreme Court judgment on April 3 that annulled around 26,000 appointments from the 2016 SSC recruitment.
Teachers must collect their letters in person at the WBBSE office in Salt Lake on November 11 (for Classes XI-XII) and November 12 (for Classes IX-X).
With this batch, a total of 348 teachers have now been reinstated through this process.
Failure to collect the appointment letters on the designated dates will be considered non-compliance by the candidates.
