Tree-Trimming Debris Piles Fuel Hyderabad Residents' Complaints
Electricity workers cut tree branches near power lines to help prevent electrical problems.
After the work, some branches and leaves were left on roads and footpaths.
Residents say the waste made roads slippery, blocked traffic, and attracted insects.
Some people also said stray dogs were scattering the branches.
TGSPDCL officials said the main problem is that nearby places to dump the waste are not available.
The company said workers are supposed to clear debris the same day or the next day.
It has offered to pay municipal workers to remove debris in troublesome areas.
Officials also said teams will respond to complaints and finish the remaining tree trimming by the end of the month.
Residents in several Hyderabad localities say tree-trimming debris remains unattended for days.
TGSPDCL says nearby dumping yards are unavailable within a 3–4 km radius.
Officials say trimming prevents short circuits in overhead power lines, especially during monsoon conditions.
The discom has offered to pay municipal bodies to tag and remove debris.
TGSPDCL says about 80% of city pruning is complete and the rest will finish by month-end.
