Krishnankutty urges Kerala to learn from Tamil Nadu on water
Krishnankutty is a leader in Kerala’s left‑wing party.
He posted on Facebook asking the state to study how Tamil Nadu got more water from Karnataka.
He said Kerala didn’t try hard enough to get its share under a water agreement called Parambikulam‑Aliyar.
He also said Tamil Nadu uses water from the same basin, leaving Kerala farmers behind.
The post came while Tamil Nadu’s chief minister was invited to Kerala for an anti‑drug program.
Krishnankutty wants Kerala to use more pressure to get water.
He thinks Kerala should learn from Tamil Nadu’s tactics.
He also pointed out that Kerala is the chair of the Joint Water Regulation Board but still can’t secure water.
He hopes the visit will show Kerala how to succeed.
Krishnankutty calls on Kerala to address water-sharing with Tamil Nadu.
He cites Tamil Nadu’s success in securing Cauvery water from Karnataka.
Krishnankutty accuses Kerala of failing to pursue its share under the Parambikulam‑Aliyar Agreement.
He argues Kerala’s farmers are disadvantaged by Tamil Nadu’s use of basin water.
The post was shared on Facebook during an invitation of Tamil Nadu CM to Kerala’s anti‑narcotics program.
