Muslim Personal Law Board Shariat Campaign Faces Pasmanda Pushback

Muslim Personal Law Board Shariat Campaign Faces Pasmanda Pushback

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board is planning a campaign called “Save India, Save Shariat.”

It says the campaign will defend the Constitution and Islamic law.

The campaign is planned across India.

It will start on September 17 and last for three months.

The board is worried about Uniform Civil Code measures in some states.

It says these measures could affect Muslim identity and religious freedom.

It also says laws are being enforced selectively, including through the selective bulldozing of houses.

A Pasmanda Muslim organization disagrees and says the campaign could divide voters before elections in Uttar Pradesh.
