Puri temple secures trademarks for sacred terms

Puri temple secures trademarks for sacred terms

The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, India, has secured trademark protection for five more sacred terms associated with the temple.

These terms include 'Jagannath Dham', 'Shree Kshetra', 'Mahaprasada', 'Nilachakra', and 'Koili Vaikuntha'.

The temple administration is taking this step to protect the sacred names and symbols from being used for commercial purposes without authorization.

This move follows earlier trademark registrations for 'Ananda Bajara', 'Patitapabana', and the Nilachakra logo.

The temple administration has applied for trademark protection for a total of 29 names, terms, and symbols associated with the Puri temple and Shree Jagannath culture.

The initiative aims to safeguard the cultural, religious, and spiritual identity of the Puri temple.
