Police Officers Penalised for Turning Domestic Violence Probe Into Sightseeing Trip

Three police officers in Pune were supposed to investigate a domestic‑violence case.

Instead of doing the work, they took the victim to a tourist spot in Satara, stopped at a roadside restaurant, and visited a plateau.

They ignored the victim’s pleas and did not question witnesses.

A police inquiry found they were negligent and irresponsible.

As punishment, their yearly pay raises were stopped for two years.
