University Institutes Uniform Dress Code for Freshers
VSSUT, a university in India, is making all new undergraduate students wear a uniform starting in 2025.
This is a first for the university.
Boys have to wear pants and shirts.
Girls can wear pants and shirts, or a salwar-kameez with a vest.
However, girls aren't allowed to wear scarves, because of safety concerns.
The rules apply to all undergraduate students, but not postgraduate or PhD students.
The uniform must match samples at the university, and not following the rules could result in disciplinary action.
Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla introduces a mandatory uniform dress code for first-year undergraduate students.
The new dress code is effective from the 2025-26 academic session.
Male students must wear formal pants and shirts.
Female students can choose between formal pants and shirts or salwar-kameez with a waistcoat.
Dupattas are banned due to security concerns.
