NSE IPO Draws 20.4 Lakh Applications, Brokers Recommend Subscription

The National Stock Exchange of India is selling shares to the public in an IPO.

By the second day, investors had applied for more shares than were available in the offer.

Many brokerage firms advised investors to subscribe because they viewed NSE as a strong and profitable exchange.

They highlighted its large share of stock and futures trading, technology and strong cash generation.

Institutional and wealthy investors applied strongly, but retail investors had applied for only 78 percent of their reserved portion at that point.

NSE also set aside shares for its employees at a discount.

Before the public offering, 189 large investors bought shares worth Rs 6,746.18 crore.

The shares are expected to be listed on BSE Ltd on September 24.
