CIA Chief Warned Russia Against NATO Attack During Moscow Visit

John Ratcliffe, the head of the CIA, secretly visited Moscow this week.

Reports say he warned Russia not to attack a country that belongs to NATO.

US officials are worried Russia might test NATO with cyberattacks, sabotage, drones or a small military operation instead of a major war.

Ratcliffe also reportedly discussed Iran and ships using the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump said the visit was mostly routine and denied that it was about Iran or a possible Russian attack on NATO.

The Kremlin said Ratcliffe met Russian intelligence officials, not Vladimir Putin.

Russia also rejected the reports as frightening stories that were not true.

Ukraine was told about the visit and asked not to launch strikes while it was taking place.
