US Strikes Iran’s IRGC Targets After Strait Shipping Attacks

The United States said it began attacking targets connected to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

The US said this was because the guard had recently tried to attack commercial ships and American service members.

The attacks happened on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Explosions were reported in several places in southern Iran.

These included areas near Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, Chabahar and Konarak.

Iranian state media said some explosions were heard near the Strait of Hormuz.

An Iranian official said no casualties had been reported in Bandar Abbas.

The reports show that tensions between the United States and Iran have increased around the important shipping route.
