Indian Railways Develops High-Capacity Waste System for LHB Coaches

Indian Railways Develops High-Capacity Waste System for LHB Coaches

Indian Railways wants to improve how trains store rubbish during long trips.

Current LHB coaches use two small bins that can fill up quickly.

A new prototype would send rubbish through a connector into a large container under the coach.

Gravity would move the rubbish downward without workers handling it during the journey.

The container could hold 376.4 litres of waste.

It would be made from stainless steel to make it strong and resistant to rust.

Workers could clean and empty the parts from both sides.

The system has been sent to RDSO for inspection and approval.

If approved, each coach would receive two new bins at its exits.
