Shiv Sena-UBT Challenges MP Merger in Supreme Court
The Shiv Sena-UBT has gone to the Supreme Court to challenge the merger of six of its MPs with the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde.
The merger was approved by the Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, on July 18.
The Shiv Sena-UBT argues that this merger is illegal because the MPs are merging with a group they had contested against in the elections.
The Supreme Court will decide whether to hear the case on Wednesday.
