Bhopal Meat Case: Aslam, Driver Remanded
In Bhopal, two men, Aslam Qureshi and Shoaib, were taken into police custody for three days.
They are being questioned about a case involving the supply of banned meat.
The meat was found in packages seized by activists.
The police are trying to find out how the banned meat ended up in these packages and if it was slaughtered at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) slaughterhouse or brought from elsewhere.
They are also looking into the workers of Aslam's company, Livestock Private Limited, to find out who was involved in the illegal activities.
The BMC slaughterhouse was sealed after the incident.
Aslam Qureshi and Shoaib were taken on three-day police remand for questioning in a banned meat supply case.
The investigation focuses on how banned meat was found in packaged consignments and if it was sourced from outside the BMC slaughterhouse.
Police are probing the workforce of Aslam's company, Livestock Private Limited, to identify all involved in the illegal activities.
The BMC slaughterhouse was sealed on January 8 after an FSL report confirmed the presence of banned meat in seized packets.
The meat was initially seized by Bajrang Dal activists near the PHQ area on December 17.
