Fare Fixation Committee Proposed for Mumbai Metro Lines
The government is planning to set up a special group called a Fare Fixation Committee for the Mumbai Metro.
This is required by law to make sure metro fares are set fairly.
The committee will include people from the state and central governments.
The main job of the committee is to look at the current fares and recommend changes if necessary.
This doesn't mean that fares will automatically go up or down right away.
It's simply a step to ensure transparency in how metro fares are decided.
The goal is to provide a clear process for setting the prices you pay to ride the metro.
MMRDA proposed a Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) for Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7.
The proposal is a procedural requirement under the Metro Railways Act.
The FFC will review and recommend metro fares.
The committee will comprise members from the state and central governments.
The move does not immediately imply a fare revision.
