MPCC Protests Non-Functional ICU at Mulund Hospital
The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) is planning a protest at a hospital in Mulund, Mumbai.
They are upset because the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is not working, even though the hospital was opened over 45 days ago.
The hospital cost a lot of money to build and was supposed to be a top-notch facility.
The MPCC says that sick people are being sent to far-away hospitals, which is causing delays and financial problems for families.
They want the ICU and other services to start working right away and are warning that if nothing is done, they will protest even more.
MPCC to hold a protest at Mulund civic hospital on January 31 over non-functional ICU services.
The 470-bed hospital, inaugurated in mid-December 2025, has critical services like ICU still not operational.
Patients are being referred to distant hospitals, causing treatment delays and financial strain, especially on economically weaker sections.
MPCC alleges deliberate mismanagement and political optics behind the hospital's inauguration.
Key demands include immediate commissioning of ICU, transparency in delays and expenditure, and accountability of authorities.
