North Bengal Adventure Clubs Unite for Himalayan Expedition
Imagine a group of friends from different adventure clubs in north Bengal who love climbing mountains.
They decided to team up for their first big adventure!
Twelve of them are going to try to climb a very tall mountain called Mt.
Pologongka in the Himalayas.
They'll start their journey on July 1st, traveling through different places before reaching their base camp.
The base camp is very high up, like 16,000 feet above sea level!
After setting up a few more camps, they'll try to reach the top around July 12th or 13th.
This mountain is super high, about 20,960 feet tall.
This joint effort allows more people to participate and makes it easier to handle the costs.
If all goes well, they'll be back by July 19th.
A 12-member team from six north Bengal adventure clubs will attempt to summit Mt. Pologongka.
The expedition marks the first joint effort of its kind in the region.
The team will depart Siliguri on July 1 and aim to reach the summit around July 12 or 13.
Mt. Pologongka, located in Ladakh, stands at 6,390 meters (20,960 feet).
The joint expedition aims to provide opportunities for local youth and address rising costs.
