Power Prices Fall Despite High Demand in September
In September, even though people used more electricity, the price of power went down.
This is because there was more power available.
Heavy rain in many areas reduced demand.
However, as the rain stopped, demand increased.
The real-time market helped balance things out, letting companies buy power when it was cheaper, which kept prices down.
Overall, the average price was lower than last year.
Average power prices on exchanges fell 17% year-on-year in September.
Electricity consumption in September was 146 billion units, a 3.2% increase.
Heavy rains in multiple states affected power demand.
Sell bids on the exchange rose about 33%.
Peak power demand was 226 GW on September 29.
