BRS alleges Indiramma sarees left to rats in godowns
A political leader in Telangana named Manne Krishank is upset about special sarees called Indiramma sarees.
The government had promised these sarees to women for free.
Krishank says thousands of the sarees are still sitting in a big storage room called a godown.
He says they have been there for many months and may even be left to rats.
The sarees were supposed to be given to women's groups in November 2025.
But even after nine months, women have not received them.
The government had said it would hand out one crore such sarees across Telangana.
Krishank says public money is being wasted by keeping the sarees locked away.
He remembers that a previous government gave out Bathukamma sarees before big festivals.
He wants officials to explain why the sarees were not given out and to distribute them soon.
BRS senior leader Manne Krishank accused the Telangana government of leaving Indiramma sarees undistributed in a godown, saying they are being 'left to rats.'
Thousands of sarees meant for women's groups have allegedly lain in a godown at the Cantonment workshop since the promised November 2025 distribution.
The government had announced that one crore Indiramma sarees would be distributed across Telangana, but Cantonment women are reported to have received none even after nine months.
Krishank said the previous KCR-led government distributed Bathukamma sarees to women ahead of the Dasara and Bathukamma festivities.
He demanded that the Cantonment Congress MLA and concerned officials explain how many sarees were distributed and ensure the remaining stock reaches women without further delay.
