Andhra Pradesh Reservoirs Near Full Capacity After Rains
Think of Andhra Pradesh like a giant water tank.
After some dry weather, it rained a lot in August!
This filled up the water tanks (reservoirs) to about 85%.
The Krishna River's water tank is almost full!
Officials are making sure there's enough water for drinking, farming and staying safe from floods.
More rain is expected, so they're keeping a close watch on the water levels.
Farmers have already planted crops in a large area.
Reservoirs in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are 85.49% full.
Total water storage reached 945.44 TMC feet as of September 7, 2025.
The Krishna River basin is at 94.87% of its capacity.
Heavy rains in August erased a rain deficit from earlier months.
Officials are balancing water supply and monitoring flood safety.
