Darjeeling Residents Revive Nightlife with Plogging Initiative
Darjeeling is bringing back its nightlife after many years, using a new activity called plogging!
Plogging is like jogging but you also pick up trash.
People are jogging and cleaning up the streets at night to show that Darjeeling is safe and that people care about keeping it clean.
This idea started in Sweden and has spread worldwide.
A local group called the Vik-Run Foundation is organizing these events.
One of the organizers may be visiting Darjeeling for an event in March.
The goal is to clean up the city and bring back the fun of late-night activities, like people used to do before the Gorkhaland agitation.
Darjeeling residents are reviving nightlife with plogging events.
Plogging combines jogging with picking up trash.
The Vik-Run Foundation started the initiative in mid-August.
Around 50 people participated in a recent event on Thursday night.
