Visakhapatnam Launches Drive to Eliminate Garbage Hotspots

Visakhapatnam Launches Drive to Eliminate Garbage Hotspots

Visakhapatnam’s city corporation wants to remove places where garbage keeps collecting.

Commissioner Ketan Garg inspected residential areas behind Venkatadri Vantillu.

He asked officials to improve cleaning on roads, in neighborhoods and near drains.

Workers will check one of the city’s 98 wards every week.

The corporation will also monitor waste vehicles and door-to-door collection.

People were asked to separate dry and wet garbage.

They should give their waste to collection vehicles instead of throwing it in public places.

People who dump garbage in open areas may have to pay penalties.

The corporation says keeping the city clean requires help from both officials and residents.
