Hamas Agrees to Gaza Ceasefire Roadmap, Relinquishing Weapons
Hamas, a group that has fought in Gaza, said it will give up all its weapons if Israel follows its promises.
A group of countries and the U.S. helped make this deal.
They will set up a new team to run Gaza and a force to keep peace.
Hamas wants Israel to keep its promises first.
The U.S. mediator said the deal is hard‑won and must be followed carefully.
Hamas has agreed to a detailed ceasefire roadmap that includes relinquishing all weapons, as announced by the Board of Peace.
The agreement is part of a U.S.-backed Comprehensive Peace Plan endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
Implementation will involve the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) and an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to oversee transition.
Hamas demands Israel fulfill its obligations before implementing any steps of the deal.
U.S. mediator Nickolay Mladenov praised the hard‑won agreement and highlighted the need for real implementation and verification.
