India Launches 'India Energy Stack' for Digital Power Upgrade
The government is creating the India Energy Stack (IES), a digital upgrade for the power sector.
It's designed to make things more efficient, especially with the growth of renewable energy.
Think of it like giving everyone in the power system a unique ID and making it easier to share information.
This should help manage electricity, ensure stability, and give consumers more control.
It's being tested first in Mumbai, Gujarat, and Delhi to learn how to manage energy better, similar to how systems like Aadhaar and UPI work.
The Ministry of Power launched the India Energy Stack (IES) initiative.
IES is a digital infrastructure for the energy sector.
It aims to address challenges from renewable energy expansion and consumer participation.
Key features include unique IDs, data sharing, and open APIs.
A 12-month proof of concept, including the Utility Intelligence Platform (UIP), will be implemented.
