Supreme Court Facilitates Mullaperiyar Dam Repair, Resolving Issues
The Supreme Court is helping Tamil Nadu and Kerala fix the old Mullaperiyar dam.
The court told Kerala to let Tamil Nadu cut down trees that block the way to fix the dam and told the government to approve the tree cutting.
The court also said Kerala has to let Tamil Nadu bring in materials to fix the dam and the roads.
To make sure everything is done safely, the court is letting an engineer from Kerala watch when the repairs are happening.
The court also wants Tamil Nadu to fix a building and follow the rules about boats.
Experts will also give advice on how to fix the dam itself to ensure its safety.

Kerala must forward Tamil Nadu's tree-cutting application to the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
The Centre is expected to sanction the tree-cutting within three weeks.
