Krishnappa Gowtham's Unconventional IPL Success: Titles Without Playing
Krishnappa Gowtham is a cricket player who has won two big Indian cricket championships (IPL) with two different teams.
However, he didn't play a single game for either team during those winning seasons.
One team paid a lot of money to get him.
Gowtham also played a season with another team and showed promise.
Although he has played in the IPL, most of his appearances were not with the teams he won titles with.
He also played one game for India.
Krishnappa Gowtham won IPL titles with both Mumbai Indians (2017) and Chennai Super Kings (2021) without playing a single game for either team.
He was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 9.25 crore (approx. US$ 1,273,000) before the 2021 season, but did not play.
Gowtham played for Rajasthan Royals in 2018, taking 11 wickets and scoring 33 runs off 11 balls in a match.
He has played a total of 36 IPL games, taking 21 wickets, none of which were for CSK or MI.
