Karnataka to Present Water Crisis Case Before Cauvery Authorities

Karnataka to Present Water Crisis Case Before Cauvery Authorities

Karnataka says it does not have enough water and wants the Cauvery authorities to understand its situation.

The authorities are checking rainfall, reservoir levels, and crop conditions.

Karnataka officials have gone to New Delhi to explain the shortage.

The state says it must protect water for drinking and farming.

It also says Tamil Nadu may have used more than its share of the river water for agriculture.

Karnataka says it has already sent more than 40 TMC of water to Tamil Nadu three times after official orders.

Farmers in Mandya do not want the state to send more water.

The Karnataka government says it will protect farmers while following the water authorities’ decisions.
