A man died after large rocks fell near a helipad on the Kedarnath route.

Officials identified him as 65-year-old Madan Mohan Tiwari from Ukhimath.

The rocks rolled down a nearby hill and hit him.

He died at the scene.

Rain and landslides also blocked parts of the pilgrimage route.

Officials temporarily stopped pilgrims from moving farther along the route.

Travellers going toward Kedarnath were told to wait at Sonprayag and Gaurikund.

People returning were told to stop at Jangalchatti.

Pilgrims may continue only after the weather improves and officials say the route is safe.
