LIC Appoints Ramakrishnan Chander as MD
Ramakrishnan Chander has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) starting from December 1, 2025.
He will serve in this role until he retires on September 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
Before this appointment, he was the Executive Director (Investment – Front Office) and Chief Investment Officer.
This appointment follows the elevation of R. Doraiswamy to the position of CEO & MD in July 2025.
Earlier this year, the government also appointed Dinesh Pant and Ratnakar Patnaik as MDs, effective from June 1, 2025.
LIC's top leadership includes the CEO & MD and four MDs.
Ramakrishnan Chander appointed as MD of LIC effective December 1, 2025.
His tenure will last until his superannuation on September 30, 2027, or until further orders.
Previously, he served as Executive Director (Investment – Front Office) and Chief Investment Officer.
R. Doraiswamy was appointed as CEO & MD in July 2025.
Dinesh Pant and Ratnakar Patnaik were also appointed as MDs effective June 1, 2025.
